Our Internal Linking Tool for SEO

Our internal linking tool scrapes your pages in real-time to build an interactive map of your site’s linking network and highlights missed opportunities.

Step 1: Input Your Set of URLs

Paste up to 10 URLs that should be related (e.g., your “Services” page and 5-9 related blog posts).

  • 💡Internal Linking Tip: Don’t just paste random URLs. Pick a specific, topic-related cluster you want to analyze.

Step 2: Analyze the Map

Watch the tool build your network graph.

  • Blue Nodes: Healthy pages with good connectivity. (2+ links)
  • Green Nodes: Low visibility pages with room for improvement. (1 link)
  • Red Nodes: “Orphan” pages that need immediate attention. (0 links)
  • Drag & Drop: Click and drag nodes to untangle the map and clearly see relationships.

Step 3: Check the Action Plan

Scroll down to the “Internal Linking Action Plan” table, where we rank your pages by priority, and highlight suggested anchor text you might use to build new links.

FAQs About the Tool

Is this internal linking tool free?

Absolutely. No strings attached. It’s designed as a fast internal link audit for up to 10 URLs.

How does it find internal link opportunities?

It scans paragraph text on your submitted pages and looks for phrase matches related to a target page title. When it finds a match, and there’s no existing link, it suggests a linking opportunity.

What is an orphan page?

In this tool, an orphan page is a submitted URL with 0 inbound links from the other submitted URLs.

Will it crawl my whole site?

No. This version analyzes only the URLs you provide, which keeps it fast and focused. But we do offer full internal linking audits.

Why does it only analyze <p> tags for recommendations?

It’s a quality control decision to focus on in-content contextual linking and avoid sidebars/boilerplate that can inflate “opportunities” without improving relevance. Paragraph text is also where the core value of internal linking occurs.

Understanding Your Results

After running the audit, you’ll see three core outputs: a visual link map, inbound link counts, and a prioritized action plan.

The network map shows how the submitted pages connect. Each node represents a page, and each arrow represents a direct internal link. Isolated nodes indicate pages that are not being supported by related content within this set.

Links In is the most important metric. Pages with 0 inbound links (Critical/Orphan) are structurally isolated and need contextual links added. Pages marked Needs Attention have limited reinforcement and should gain additional internal references.

The Action Plan highlights where contextual link opportunities already exist within paragraph content, making it easier to strengthen topical relevance and authority flow quickly.

💡SEO Tip: Anchor text suggestions are exactly that. Suggestions. The most effective internal links use anchor text that appears naturally within the content and aligns with the target page’s topic or primary keyword. Avoid forcing exact-match phrases; instead, prioritize clarity, relevance, and user intent.

Does Internal Linking Really Matter?

The short answer is yes. Internal links are the veins and arteries of your website. They carry “authority” (or link juice) from your top-performing pages to your new or struggling posts. Without a solid internal linking strategy, three critical things happen:

Crawl Waste

Google bots hit a dead end and leave your site before indexing your deeper pages.

Orphan Pages

Content without internal links becomes isolated, effectively making it invisible to search engines.

Keyword Confusion

Without clear anchor text, Google doesn't know which page on your site should rank for your target terms.

Need a Full SEO Internal Linking Strategy?

A 10-page scan is a great start, but most sites have hundreds (or thousands) of pages tangled in a messy web. If your scan revealed red nodes, isolated clusters, or missed opportunities, you likely have a site-wide architecture issue.

Don’t let technical errors drain your rankings. As a technical SEO agency, we specialize in internal link analysis and architecture optimization. We can crawl your entire domain (not just 10 pages), map your complete topical authority, and build a strategic plan that boosts your rankings without writing a single new word of content.
